Full Codec Support
The STMC-MX supports all the video codecs being deployed and planned for high definition and standard definition IPTV and digital broadcast services: H.264, MPEG‑2 and Windows Media 9. Full scaling between high definition and standard definition provides the widest possible range of service options.
Audio/Video
The STMC-MX is uncompromising in its support for exceptional audio/visual quality supporting a wide range of output resolutions up to 1080p. The STMC-MX is able to provide customers with a full home cinema experience with support for HDMI, HDCP and Dolby 5.1 audio.
IPTV
The STMC-MX supports IPTV broadcast, multicast and video on demand services for all codecs. Advanced buffering technology ensures excellent quality IPTV support over the public internet. Embedded scaling enables IPTV support for standard and high definition services using bit rates from as low as 350kbps up to 20 Mbps. The optional hard drive enables progressive download IPTV services.
Digital TV
The STMC-MX supports up to two digital terrestrial, cable and satellite feeds via plug-in tuner options. The optional hard drive enables full digital video recording features.
Content Protection
A common interface module ensures support for all the major DVB conditional access systems. Embedded Microsoft® DRM and AES decryption enables full support for IPTV ‘virtual’ conditional access systems.
Extensibility
The STMC-MX supports Fusion Toolkit, a full development environment, including Linux APIs and JavaScript extensions for partner customisation. CompleteTV’s unique rapid hardware enhancement services ensure the STMC-MX is also the industry’s leading OEM development platform for customised products.
Upgrades
The STMC-MX supports field upgrades of codecs, operating system and middleware. Improvements to your service and future functional extensions to codecs can be downloaded using the secure CTV update services.
